 Sylvia (Sylvia North)
Silvia is an Italian female given name of Latin origin, with English-language cognate Sylvia. The name originates from the Latin word for forest Silva and its meaning is spirit of the wood. The God of the forest was associated with the figure of Silvanus.

 Cynthia - Mulholland Drive
Cynthia was originally an epithet of the Greek goddess of the moon, Artemis, who was sometimes called "Cynthia" because, according to legend, the goddess was born on Mount Cynthus.

Diane(Diana), Sylvia North, Cynthia, Elms (Betty)....all connected to woods/forest & the moon.

  2. I'm not surprised...because I've not seen it. :-)
I have deliberately not watched it yet...due to the thought, that I will have no more Lynch films to watch (if I do)...and I don't like that feeling. I will watch it soon though...just in case something happens to me!

  3. Trauma through the phone.
I've seen this in early John Carpenter movies: Halloween and The Fog

And in most of Dario Argento's early films.

Is there some occult meaning? Are humans losing the ability to communicate?
